Solutions / Talent development and leadership
Technical skill gets you promoted. EQ gets you followed.
Assess and develop the emotional intelligence that separates good leaders from great ones.
Technical skill gets people promoted; emotional intelligence determines whether they succeed once they are there. We assess EQ across your leadership bench and build targeted development plans that improve self-awareness, relationship management, and team trust. Better leaders, measured rather than assumed.
Signals you have this problem
- A technically excellent leader keeps losing people.
- Feedback describes someone as brilliant and difficult in the same sentence.
- Teams go quiet in certain rooms.
- Nobody can name what a leader would need to change, only that something must.
What the engagement looks like
-
Assess
A validated EQ instrument across the leadership group, so the conversation starts from data rather than adjectives.
-
Debrief individually
Every leader receives their own results in a coached conversation. Assessment done to someone produces defensiveness.
-
Target development
Self-awareness, self-management, organizational awareness, and relationship management, worked on where each leader is weakest.
-
Re-measure
Reassessment after a development cycle, so improvement is demonstrated rather than claimed.
Common questions
Can emotional intelligence actually be developed?
The components can be. Self-awareness improves with structured feedback, and self-management and relationship behaviors improve with deliberate practice. It is slower than teaching a technical skill and it does work.
Should EQ results be used in hiring decisions?
With care, and never alone. EQ assessment is most useful developmentally. Using it as a selection gate invites both measurement problems and legal ones.
Is this the same as a personality test?
No. Personality instruments describe stable traits. EQ assessment measures a set of capabilities that can be improved, which is why it is worth measuring twice.
